Winters Lodge is tucked away in a secluded and peaceful rural setting.

Directions

From the North: From the M5 motorway junction 23 come into Bridgwater on the dual carriageway. Keep straight on (ignoring the right turn) until you cross the river. Then go straight on at the next set of lights onto the A39 signposted Minehead. Pass through the first set of traffic lights (to Morrissons and B and Q) and turn left at the next lights to Spaxton.

Go straight on for 5 miles to Spaxton and then go through the village, passing the garage, village hall, school and as you are leaving the village note a cottage on the right with a beehive, perhaps saying honey for sale. About a further 150 yds turn left into Bush Lane, sign facing you, and after about half a mile you meet a small stream on the right and a farmyard on the left, and the road bears to the left but go straight on through the farm gate facing you and park.

From Taunton: proceed out of town through the village of Kingston St Mary following the road through to the top of Buncombe Hill. Bear right (don’t turn right to Broomfield) at the top of the hill, signposted Enmore and Bridgwater. Continue along this road and turn left just past the Travellers Rest Inn signposted to Spaxton, follow the road for 2 miles turning right at the t-junction. After just 50 yds take the first right into Bush Lane. After about half a mile you meet a small stream on the right and a farmyard on the left, and the road bears to the left but go straight on through the farm gate facing you and park.

Nearby

Nestling in the Quantock Hills, the properties are situated on the outskirts of the village of Spaxton which has a popular village inn, filling station, post office and church.

There are several attractive villages nearby with a wide choice of country pubs to enjoy.

There are also farm shops selling local produce - honey, cheese, meat, cider etc.

Taunton, the county town, is 7 miles distant and has a wide range of shopping and recreational facilities together with a mainline railway station. The market town of Bridgwater is 6 miles away with easy access to the M5 motorway (junction 23 or 24). Both towns offer a wide variety of shops, restaurants and leisure activities.

Sailing and fishing activities can be enjoyed at the nearby Durleigh and Hawkridge Reservoirs and golf courses can be found at Enmore (2 miles away) and Taunton.

Although set in a delightful rural location these properties are also well placed for exploring the historic towns and cities and the diverse coast and countryside of Somerset and Devon.

If visiting during November, the illuminated night carnivals around the area are not to be missed.

This is a wonderful location for all country pursuits and also offers a wide network of footpaths and bridleways from your doorstep.
